Lake O The Pines

There are many beautiful campgrounds on Lake O’ The Pines for both tent camping and RV camping. Below you and find directions to and a short summary about each one. If you click on the campground name you will find more detailed information on each.

Alley Creek Campground
From Jefferson, TX, travel 4 miles northwest on Highway 49. Turn left onto FM 729 and continue for 12 miles to the park entrance on the left.
The Alley Creek Park Campgrounds are some of the nicest campgrounds on Lake O’ The Pines. These wonderful campgrounds feature 67 campsites for either tent camping or RV camping.

Brushy Creek Campground
From Jefferson, TX, travel 4 miles northwest on Highway 49. Turn left onto FM 729 and continue for about 7 miles, then turn left again onto FM 726. After nearly 5 miles turn left at the stop sign and follow signs to the park.
Brushy Creek Campground is one of the best campgrounds in all of North Texas. This campground is defined by the huge pine trees that reach into the sky all over the camping area. These trees provide plenty of shade and some protection from the wind. The campground consists of 76 camping spaces.

Buckhorn Creek Campground
From Jefferson, TX, travel 4 miles northwest on Highway 49. Turn left onto FM 729 and continue for 7 miles, then turn left again onto FM 726. After about 2 miles the park entrance will be on the right.
Buckhorn Creek Park is a very popular park and campground located on the south end of Lake O’ The Pines just on the east end of the dam. This campground has 40 RV sites and 38 tent camping sites. The park itself is protected from the wind by the dam and by the many trees throughout the park.

Johnson Creek Campground
From Jefferson, Texas, travel 4 miles northwest on Highway 49. Turn left onto FM 729 and continue for 8.5 miles to the park entrance on the left.
The campground at Johnson Creek Park is one of the nicest campgrounds in Texas. This beautiful campground has 54 campsites with most having great views of Lake O’ The Pines.
